About Posada
"Las Posadas," the remarkable buildup to Christmas Eve, is perhaps the most delightful and unique Mexican tradition.
Beginning December, it commemorates the events in the journey of Mary and Joseph from Nazareth to Bethlehem.
We will celebrate the posada in the traditional way, with candles and sparklers to request posada (lodging) and with chants that everybody will sing. We will also have the traditional piņatas, food, refreshments and of course, dancing.
The idea is to gather to celebrate this party and share food and drinks prepared by each of us. We will acknowledge if you can confirm your attendance in order to make all the arrangements. We will also appreciate if you can suggest something else for this celebration, especially if you want to prepare some food, or bring something else.
